Information sent on behalf of Leicestershire Police

    Dear Members of South Leicester.

Hello, hope you all are well. There has been recent incidents of burglary I wish tell you about. The first was a Burglary on Saffron Road near to the junction of Gloucester Crescent in Wigston. The address on Saffron Road Burglary occurred on 20/11/2018 between 15:30 - 17:30. If you were in the area during that time please could you think about any vehicles that was parked near that junction or any suspicious persons loitering that area? If you have dash cams or camera door bells, CCTV, please could I ask that you check to see if anyone even knocked on your door during that time to contact via email Southleicesternpa@leicestershire.pnn.police.uk. Don’t forget to add your details if you have any footage. We believe the suspects used a dark colour vehicle and about 3-4 persons involved.

Another Burglary to mention was on Lynmouth Drive (Wigston/Knighton boarder). This occurred on 19/11/2018 about 19:00hrs. If you were at the location or passing by on Shakerdale Road to check any dash cam footage of any vehicles driving recklessly, again please let us know.

Please can I remind members to utilise timer lights and there are so many smart devices out there. You can even get smart lights that fit on your existing light connections. These can be operated via your smart phone (even when your away) and you can set the timers so that they go on/off. This is called ‘Mimic Mode’ which makes it look like your home when you’re not.

Another item to worth getting is the Fake TV Burglar Deterrent which will again 'MIMIC' that your watching TV inside. This can be purchased from immobilse.com or search on the internet im sure you can shop around but link as below. There are other great products so worth to take a look. As the days are shorter; criminals will target homes that have no lights on. Its simple if theres no lights it means no one is in.
