    #YouSaidWeDid

    Dear resident,

Thank you for completing our recent survey about priorities for policing in your local area. We had an excellent response. Your feedback has helped us identify particular areas of focus on this beat. They are:

    • You said - Anti-social behaviour (ASB).
We did – Local police have adopted a pro-active approach during their day to day activities and continued to patrol ASB hotspots on area. Reports of ASB have seen a steady decline in recent weeks, which in part relates to the Covid regulations and lockdown 2.0 in place. There is nothing significant to report at this time.

    • You said - Road safety.
We did – Due to operational demands, the local ‘day of action’ planned on the beat in December has had to be postponed until early next year. A further update on this matter will be provided next month.
Local officers continue to work towards this priority on a daily basis. PC Wardle recently completed a speeding operation outside of the Dog and Gun, Main Street Kilby and all noted speeding vehicles were stopped and suitably sanctioned.
The local beat team have also been made aware of numerous reports of careless and inconsiderate parking in the village of Countesthorpe. Relevant vehicles have been highlighted and their owners contacted in an attempt to reduce this demand. Please can I ask that you park in a suitable manner at all times, one that does not impact upon pedestrians or other road users.

    • You said – Drug taking and dealing.
We did – Local officers have erected ‘police operation’ signs in hotspot areas of Countesthorpe to raise awareness to those considering the location for criminal activity. These locations will feature on the patrol strategy and be subject to increased patrols by local officers at key times throughout the week.
Officers continue to work tirelessly on this priority with real success; in recent weeks a drug deal witnessed by officers in Countesthorpe resulted in one male detained and a quantity of cannabis recovered.

    • You said - Nuisance motorbikes.
We did – Local officers are well aware of the historical issues with motorbikes in fields and parks in the locality. The beat team working closely with the ASB team at Blaby District Council to reduce this issue and identify those responsible.
S59 warning signs have been erected at key hotspot locations, allowing police to seize bikes immediately from anyone involved in this unwanted behaviour. Patrols throughout December have been positive with no recent issues to report.

What you have told us has helped shape our priorities for this beat. My colleagues and I will continue to keep you up to date on our progress. You can also follow what we are doing at Blaby Police on Facebook and Twitter.

If you have any further feedback, questions or concerns then please do not hesitate to get in contact or say hello when you see us on the street.
Of course, please remember you can report crime online at www.leics.police.uk or call 101. Please dial 999 in an emergency.

Thank you again for your support.
The only thing now remaining is to wish you all a safe and merry Christmas and New Year.

    Your beat officers,

PS Goldsmith, PC Wardle, PCSO Eastwood.
