Vegetation Management - Knighton Area Network Rail

Network Rail need to remove trees/woody vegetation from 0-6.5 metres (21 feet) either side of the tracks (from big trees to small bushes) for the safety of the track workers and to provide a safe and reliable railway. This will also include removing or crown reducing trees which are within striking distance of the railway should they fall.
The railway provides a great natural wildlife corridor that attracts many species of animals, birds, flora and fauna, but one that needs to be carefully managed all year to keep the railway safe. Before they clear vegetation, an independent ecologist provides a risk assessment of the area to see if protected species may be present. If protected species are found, then the appropriate exclusion zones are put in place.

The work is being carried out between January 2021 to March 2021 during the day and sometimes at night. There will be a virtual team call on Thursday 17th December between 6.00pm - 6.30pm with Network Rail should you have question. Link https://bit.ly/2VY176I
