Are you getting a bike for Christmas?

Good Afternoon,

Today's crime prevention advice is focused on protecting your push bike.

Some lucky people will be getting a new bike for Christmas as a gift or have decided to treat themselves to a new set of wheels for the new year.

Throughout the year we promote that the best type of lock to use is a D-lock or sometimes referred to as U-locks due to their distinctive shape.

Many bike companies suggest spending 10% of the bikes value on a decent lock or recommend buying a 'sold secure' lock.

Here at Mansfield House Police Station our Front desk sell 'Sold secure' D-locks for £10 each, they come with two keys and a holder to clip them to your bike when not in use.

This would make a great stocking filler for any new bike owner or cyclist.

We also hand out Bike Passports free of charge, these are a little passport size booklet to fill out all of the information that we will need to return your bike to you should it be stolen and recovered by Police.

Our Front office is open from 9-5 Monday - Saturday.
